The objective of this project was to create Graphical User Interface elements to fit the branding of the selected client. I decided to design for a regional burger chain in Malaysia called myBurgerLab.
Project Goal
To design a set of GUI element interactions(buttons, checkboxes, etc) that accompanies the client's branding
Who is myBurgerLab?
The restaurant specializes in making burgers with black buns that are colored using charcoal.
MyBurgerLab is also known for its interesting combinations of toppings and protein. One of their famous burger varieties is called 'The Elvis', a burger with PB&J.
What do I want to achieve?
MyBurgerLab has an existing website to promote its brand. The restaurant also partners with delivery services (Grab Food, Food Panda, etc). Additionally, the brand operates on Facebook and Instagram and has quite a following.
For this project, I wanted to envision how they would look if they had a mobile food ordering app, and demonstrate how the animations would look.
Several of myBurgerLab’s social media posts have some orange or yellow tinge, so I wanted to incorporate that into my designs.
I sketched out a lot of different ideas for my designs, and one thing I learned from all my planning is that I tend to over-complicate my designs a little too much.
With this in mind, I ended up simplifying my final designs, which worked out cleaner and more effectively in the end.
